Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary. Your work has advanced the state of health in Hong Kong and greater Asia through your “strengthening of health professional education, advancement of integrity, ethical conduct and standards in the practice of medicine and its specialties, bridging of disciplines and collaboration among medical practitioners, and the exchange of information and ideas in medicine and matters concerning the medical profession” (mission statement). I commend your dedication to opening opportunities for rising young clinicians and faculty, pursuit of innovation in education, and development of a stronger workforce that will lead health improvement in Hong Kong and globally.

The Hong Kong Academy of Medicine has been a close partner of the US National Academy of Medicine. It has been an honor to collaborate with you to advance health and medicine globally. Already, we have worked closely to draw attention to the threat of infectious disease outbreaks through our joint screening of the CNN documentary, “The Unseen Enemy” at your headquarters in June 2017. I look forward to our Academies’ continued partnership as we work together to shape the future of health globally.

Dr. Victor DZAU
